Write an Argumentative Research Paper

TOPIC: Student Loan Debt and the affect it is having on the American economy.

The minimal submission that will be considered for a passing grade (70%) includes:
On the global level:
Have a clear, debatable thesis in the Introduction.
Fully support that argument with a logical progression of ideas.
Cite from at least 5, academic-quality resources.
B least 5 Ps –an intro, conclusion and 3 supporting Ps.  Without 5 Paragraphs, your submission will not be graded and will earn the grade of zero.
Demonstrate understanding of Audience and Purpose by using the third-person objective point of view.
Meets the word count in the Tentative Calendar
On the P level:
Begin ALL SPs with topic-sentence claims, which are P-level arguments that support the over-arching debatable thesis/argument.
Do not begin with a fact or a quote.
Integrate research to support your P-level claim
On the local level:
Demonstrates proof reading
Demonstrates growth in punctuation and grammar
Uses third person objective point of view, which means no personal pronouns are used (take out I, me, my, mine, you, yours, ours, we, etc.).
On the formatting level, demonstrate clear understanding of MLA formatting, including:
Correct Header
Correct 4-line heading
Centered title
Double Spacing throughout
1 inch margins
Introduce all quotations.
Use correct Parentheticals
CITE ALL RESEARCH!!!  (Failure to provide citations or WC entries for research is Plagiarism.)
Begin WC page on the top of the page following the end of the paper
Center the words Works Cited
Integrate the correct WC entries
Meets the similarity report guidelines of not more than 25%.

1.  Research: Integrate at least 5 sources (primary and secondary)

2.  Critical Thinking:  Integrate research and all of your work this semester into a researched paper with an original argument.

3.  Use writing process to write a well developed, organized argument paper–your argument is clearly stated at the end of your intro and every SP begins with a topic-sentence claim/P-level argument–AND meet the word count.

4.  Demonstrate basic principles of grammar and punctuation.

5.  Use correct MLA format for all aspects of the paper (format, in-text citations, and the Works Cited page)
